FAQs

ENT Care — FAQs

Quick answers to common ear, nose & throat questions.

When should I consult for ear pain?
If ear pain is severe, associated with fever, discharge, reduced hearing, or persists beyond 1–2 days, consult early for proper assessment.
Is ear wax removal safe at home?
Avoid inserting objects/cotton buds inside the ear. Improper cleaning can worsen blockage or injure the ear canal. It’s safer to consult for the right method.
How do I know if it’s allergy or sinus infection?
Allergies often have sneezing/itchy nose/watery discharge. Infection may include thick discharge, facial pain, fever, and heaviness. A doctor can differentiate and guide the correct plan.
When is hoarseness a concern?
If hoarseness lasts more than 2 weeks, or is associated with breathing difficulty, swallowing pain, or weight loss, it needs evaluation.
What can help with repeated sore throat?
Hydration, warm gargles, avoiding irritants, and treating triggers like allergies or reflux can help. If infections are recurrent, proper evaluation is recommended.
What are red flags in dizziness/vertigo?
Severe headache, weakness/tingling, slurred speech, chest pain, fainting, or severe imbalance are red flags. Seek urgent medical attention if present.
